BACKGROUND:
EMTEQUE was initially retained by
Savanna Partners to perform both an asbestos survey and a lead paint survey
at this former psychiatric hospital, designated a NYC Historical Landmark
property, located on Central Park West. Because of our experience with
this property, EMTEQUE was then retained by the new property owners (MCL
Companies) to conduct a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, Phase II
Subsurface Investigation and a ground penetrating radar survey, in addition
to performing biohazard materials management, chemical waste management,
radiation abatement and the oversight of the remediation of all asbestos
containing building materials. The existing structure is planned for future
renovation with the addition of a new residential tower.
