BACKGROUND:
An oil spill
was incurred on this site in 1996, as a result of removing two large USTs.
EMTEQUE was originally retained to conduct the required endpoint sampling,
lab analysis and reporting to close the spill number with NYSDEC, but
discovered that the spill had not been totally remediated. EMTEQUE managed
the recovery of over 500-gallons of free product that was floating on
the groundwater, in addition to removing over 3,000-gallons of groundwater
and many yards of contaminated soil. EMTEQUE then developed a final plan
to close down the spill file with the NYSDEC.
