BACKGROUND:
EMTEQUE was
retained initially by Bauhaus Construction (Construction Manager) to perform
a lead-based paint survey at Donna Karanís (DKNY) condominium complex,
which occupied an entire floor at 55 Central Park West. Since the lead-painted
walls on this floor were going to be demolished prior to undergoing a
major renovation, EMTEQUE was tasked with developing a project scope of
work; conducting a site walk-through with potential abatement contractors;
analyzing the final bids and making a vendor recommendation; performing
air monitoring services during the lead-abatement/wall demolition process;
and taking final dust wipe samples prior to project completion. The entire
project occurred over a continuous six-week period and was successfully
brought to closure on-schedule within extremely tight timeline and workplace-related
restrictions.
