BACKGROUND:
EMTEQUE was
originally retained on this development project to conduct a Phase II
subsurface investigation and to search for any possible underground storage
tanks on the site. After locating six gasoline tanks, it was discovered
during the excavation process that the tank system had leaked part of
its contents into the surrounding soils. EMTEQUE geotechnical engineers
successfully delineated the extent of subsurface soil and groundwater
contamination, in addition to developing a remediation plan and managing
the complete remediation process. EMTEQUE developed a remedial closure
report and was able to achieve a spill closure from the NYSDEC for this
site.
