BACKGROUND:
EMTEQUE was chosen from a field of
eight competitive bidders to provide a confirmatory asbestos survey, asbestos
air monitoring and asbestos project management for the abatement and demolition
of over 60 buildings at a Phelps-Dodge inactive hazardous waste site in
Maspeth, Queens in New York City. A total of three field technicians performed
various environmental services on-site for a period of four continuous
months, with the project completed on-time and on-budget. EMTEQUEís principals
also worked with various NYC and NY State agencies to get numerous variances
approved to expedite the asbestos abatement process, which saved the client
significant time and expense in the asbestos removal process.
