BACKGROUND:
EMTEQUE was selected from a competitive
group of four environmental consultants that were bidding the asbestos
consulting services at 919 Third Avenue in NYC. This program involved
an asbestos survey, the preparation of design documents and air-monitoring/project
management oversight services for the asbestos abatement of over 800,000
square feet of commercial office space, which was sprayed with asbestos-containing
fireproofing. This work was performed for JP Morgan Investment Management
as agents for 919 Third Avenue Associates LP and was performed within
a five-month period, working as much as 150,000 square feet of space concurrently,
24-hours-a-day, 6-days-a-week. The approximate asbestos abatement budget
was $6-million dollars.
